I installed the jitsi app on my Samsung Galaxy S10. I need a room number to join the meeting.
I made a similar mistake, except that I did not actually install it. I am not sure what you installed (I was too frightened to install the Debian package). It might be the software needed to run a jit.si server. In any case I think you do not need it. You need a computer with working microphone and speaker (sound), and should have a camera. You also need a web browser that is not ancient. (Lynx https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx_(web_browser) will not cut it!) Just put the URL https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA into the web browser. It will ask your permision to use the camera (Yes). It will display a rectangle with a drop down menu and the title "Join Meeting". Do not look in the menu; just click "Join Meeting". It _might_ work! -- Keith PS: I think you can do that any time. If there is no meeting happening, you will be all alone, but you can admire yourself on your own computer screen and see that it mostly sort of works (except for really working).
