I joined the preserve.games lemmy instance. Since it is distributed, I figured it didn't matter which site I was on and I liked the mission of preserve.games. I subscribed to two communities on lemmy.ml. Subscribe is still pending. One from ttrpg.network is also pending. It doesn't seem like I'm consistently seeing posts. I tried engaging for a while but it seemed like it wasn't worth the effort. Maybe it works better if you are on a major site. On Sat, 2024-09-28 at 09:27 -0400, Gregory Boyce via WLUG wrote:
Open Source software in general has facilitated a massive transfer of wealth upwards over the past few decades. There are the tools and their histories, and then there are how we want to use them moving forward.
We could certainly choose different software than Lemmy though.

Lemmy is cool conceptually, but FYI, since you're thinking about social change, the maintainers of Lemmy are fascist-sympathisers ("tankies" is the term to Google for). _______________________________________________ WLUG mailing list -- wlug@lists.wlug.org To unsubscribe send an email to wlug-leave@lists.wlug.org Create Account: https://wlug.mailman3.com/accounts/signup/ Change Settings: https://wlug.mailman3.com/postorius/lists/wlug.lists.wlug.org/ Web Forum/Archive: https://wlug.mailman3.com/hyperkitty/list/wlug@lists.wlug.org/message/PGMMMT...
