While at first glance it may appear that the WLUG list never contains any spam, this due to the fact that the list is closed - any emails coming from an address that is not subscribed to the list are held for approval by a moderator, ie, me. In reality, the WLUG list does get a fair amount of spam, sometimes ten or twenty on a bad day. In an effort to not have to deal with this manually, the WLUG list will now use the X-Perlmx-Spam header that is added by the WPI spam filter. Hopefully this will mean that the only messages I have to worry about manually approving are legitimate emails from people who for whateve reason aren't subscribed properly. If anyone thinks that they're losing email sent to the list, please email me directly and I'll take a look. -- Frank Sweetser fs at wpi.edu WPI Network Engineer
