Verizon always supplies the local loop, but they might not have the right equipment in a particular CO to provide DSL (a DSLAM). A CLEC (like Covad) might have the equipment in that CO. I know of at least one location where Verizon DSL wasn't available, but Speakeasy DSL was. madcateast> > I am thinking of switching my local phone line provider, perhaps another madcateast> > company may provide DSL on my telephone line? Am I correct? Or if madcateast> > verizon cannot do it, none of them can do it? Can you do this? Most locations only have one ILEC (Verizon in our case) which owns all the copper loops. -- Charles R.
