I installed freeswan, but didn't configure it correctly and all of the sudden I didn't have access to my lan (remember that e-mail I sent last week? that was the problem). When I have the time I'll sit down and read all about that and ipsec; but I can't right now. WEP is just this annoying buzz that I should be able to make work, and yet can't. It's annoying. I know it's cracked, but it's still annoying. Wes On Fri, 2002-07-19 at 10:28, Josh Huber wrote:

Did you guys set up WEP? I know it's "encryption-lite" but right now I've only my wlan setup with mac address locking only because I can't get wep to work at all.
I really recommend setting up IPsec. If you're using Linux, Free S/WAN works well. Personally, it took me a few tries to get things working, but once I did it turned out very well...
I actually had less trouble setting up wireless in linux than in windows!
Yeah, a friend of mine who uses Windows told me how much of a pain in the ass it was to set up wireless...For me it was quite simple (well, except for the ipsec setup)
