I've been following the gridfinity saga for some time now. There are actually a lot more designs available on some of the 3d print sharing sites too.

There are also a few other projects with the same concept, I've also looked at hexagon based one.

If I could just get my z-axis on my 3d printer stable maybe I could actually print some.
