Vaxes were clustered years ago. You could reboot each member of a cluster without impacting applications running on the cluster if you were careful. And swap out hardware, etc. Very cool stuff. I started on DEC-20 at WPI years ago, and missed the VMS side of things when WPI got the Encore Multimax instead of a VMS cluster.
