I have now been able to boot the system using another drive. The original boot drive (hda7) can be mounted successfully with the following fstab configuration: /dev/hda7 /data2 reiserfs noauto, user 0 0 When reiserfsck /data2 is run I get the following messages: reiserfs_open: bread failed reading block 16 reiserfs_open: bread failed reading block 2 reiserfs_open: neither new nor old reiserfs format found on /data2 reiserfsck: --rebuild-sb may restore reiserfs super block What are the ramifications of running this? Is this something that can cause the data on the disk to be lost? Thanks for any help, Mike
