I have been working as a Unix Sys Admin for Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) for the last few months, although I have been with the company for 3 years. I agree with what Gary said and additionally would add getting your foot in the door working at a helpdesk somewhere. I know from experience that most tech companies will look within before hiring from the outside to fill positions.
