chances are you need to remove ieee from the kernel and use the latest ieee release ... that's what i had to do for my intel nic
Ndiswrapper on the other hand is easier to setup. As for the certificates yes definitely I have downloaded both and linked them in the conf file. I am pretty sure it is not a driver problem since the error comes as 'authentication timed out.' The light for Wifi also blinks frequently when the driver is configured so maybe that also suggests that the drive is properly installed.
i really wouldnt waste time on ndiswrapper ... with the intel drivers for linux, you can get support from them ... -mike
