Hi all, Does anyone know if there'a a way to build a single rpm that can be applied to multiple OSs?
Hmm... I don't think this is possible with binary RPM's, but you could distribute the source RPM, assuming the installees have the resources to compile the app in question. The only OS I've ever personally encountered that does this is NeXT/OpenSTEP, which has .app packages, which are actually just binaries, libraries, pixmaps, and various other program resources stored in a directory hierarchy. "Fat" .app's contained both i386 and m68k binaries. It may be possible to use this format on other platforms... check out GNUSTEP and Darwin. http://www.gnustep.org/ http://developer.apple.com/darwin/ Nate -- Experience is not what happens to you; it is what you do with what happens to you. -- Aldous Huxley
