So Keith, Now we're waiting for *you* to reply that you got emails back from the list on printer suggestions. :-)
John
Sorry, I got busy with stayin' alive.
I really like Brother printers, especially the laser ones.
Thanks for the good advice.
I just saw (and answered!) your previous email. Let me know if you still have questions.
Now my questions are about the wlug.org mail server. Where is it? Is somebody in wlug paying for it? Who owns it? Who has privilege to tweak it? Who installs the OS?

Our list server has that quirk, such that when you post a new item OR reply, everyone on the list except you gets a copy/email. I think.
I don't know why you think that. It did not work like that in the past, and other mailing lists to which I subscribe do not do that.
Also.... you can check the "archive".
I never did that before. I have copies (at least I think I do) of all old mails on my own computers. But I did it yesterday and... The wlug.mailman3.com archive shows my post as Keith Wright 10 Mar 3:54 a.m. My own mail server log says: Mar 9 22:55:33 fcs19 postfix/smtp[19217]: A95CA218375: to=<wlug@lists.wlug.org>, relay=wlug.mailman3.com[144.76.103.132], delay=37, status=sent (250 2.0.0 Ok: queued as C75301747122) So a system of cables and computers running with GHz clocks took about 5hrs to archive a few hundred bytes. (Assuming the archive is in Eastern Standard Time.) I don't know exactly how long it took to deliver it to you, but this is in the headers of the message I finally got back: Received: from [172.22.0.5] (wlugmailman3com_mailman-core_1.wlugmailman3com_default [172.22.0.5]) by host.mailman3.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8EBB21747165; Sat, 11 Mar 2023 09:59:38 +0000 (UTC) The day after it hit the archive.

That links to a bug/feature report on gmail.com. I don't use gmail, does wlug?

Toner cartridge is cheap enough. What model hp has discontinued them? With all the 3rd party toner providers, I'd be shocked to learn you're right.
It's a LaserJet 5MP. Feel free to tell me where I can get a new toner cartridge. I recently bought one from a re-seller, but it turned out to be about a decade past its expiration date and worse than the old one I had. -- Keith
