I have successfully installed Fedora 6 Core.  I included 'programming' services.  It said that it would install SAMBA.  It did not.  System Services mentions the need for xinetd.  'Locate' finds 'xinetd' but it does not seem to run.  smbd  and nmbd are nowhere to be found.   Sigh.....

My machine only has 256M ram memory.  The higher numbered FEDORA packages ask for more ram.  I have a 'good' and never before used set of Fedora 6 .iso CD-ROMs.

Red Hat and Fedora have gone their separate ways.

I just found http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora_Core/6/html/Installation_Guide/index.html.

Looks promising.  Little did I know how much has changed.....  Constructive suggestions would be appreciated.  Maybe I should jump to CORE 13 or so......
