I would suggest you use the 0.19-fixes or 0.20-fixes from SVN (subversion repository) The 0.19 and 0.20 vanilla releases have a lot of bugs, but it depends on your hardware and setup if you will really be affected by the bugs. See the mythtv wiki on the bug fixes in the -fixes branches in SVN. On gentoo linux, there are packages based on SVN snapshots. Chuck Noyes wrote:

The 0.19 version has been out for a while and I guess the 0.20 version is still sort of 'bleeding' edge. So there probably isn't a "Dapper" package for that yet.
