Hi Folks,

I need some help with an Android app for the hearing impaired.   Essentially, the app is to be used with a wearable android device (Google Glasses or the Sony android wrist watch) and will listen for sounds such as the door bell or the tty, or any other household sound that should be reported to the wearer.

Capturing the sound using an Android device is not the problem.  What I don't know is how to compare the incoming sound stream with sound signatures that should cause the event to occur.  Once the event occurs, then text can be displayed on the google glasses or the haptic transducer on the wrist watch can be activated.

This app is intended to be open source so I'm looking for volunteer help on the algorithms.  I will do the programming.
