The organizers of MiniDebConf Online informed me of a feature of jitsi. When you share your screen, it stops your video. That's why I used guvcview to show my video during the presentation. Apparently if you just click the video button again, it starts showing you in the bottom right corner. The presenter can't see it unless they have two displays and jitsi showing on a non shared screen.
