I am going through a back log of emails... the Zaurus (from Sharp) rocks!!! It is a full linux operating system on a hand held device. The number of apps available to it is growing by the day. It has a full keyboard (small but usable) and many other nice features. When you install vnc server on it you can get a really cool window on your desktop to interact with the device.
I've been wondering how difficult/how much code hacking is needed to compile stuff for it. Is there an emulator or something so I can play with it? If you use QT embedded, which the Zaurus uses, you can compile a native x86 version that will run on X using the frame buffer. Also there are cross compilers that you can compile with so the resulting binaries will run on the arm processor.
I'd love to get one, especially if I could get NetHack/Zangband to run on it. ;)
I used to have nethack on my iPAQ (don't know now to play, so i uninstalled it, but i did work). --brad
