I can install gentoo or slackware. Gentoo has i586 and i686 binaries now so a base install can be done with no network. ----------------------------------------- Chuck Haines GDC Systems Administrator Infinity Complex Developer WPILA Lab Manager ----------------------------------------- AIM: CyberGrex ICQ: 3707881 Yahoo: CyberGrex_27 Cell: (410) 610-6343. ----------------------------------------- "Geek by nature, Linux by choice." -----Original Message----- From: Andy Stewart [mailto:andystewart@attbi.com] Sent: Thursday, September 26, 2002 9:18 PM To: Worcester Linux Users' Group Subject: [Wlug] Oct 24, 2002: Install Fest ! HI Everybody, I have reserved the HIggins Labs discovery classroom (HL218?) for our upcoming install fest! This is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24, which is the night which was scheduled for our next WLUG meeting. I thought that the first week of B term would work out well for the WPI undergraduates. In place of the meeting, we'll have the install fest from 6:30 - 9:30 PM (yes, the time is earlier for this occasion). I will update the website shortly. If you know people who are interested in having us help them with a Linux installation, please ask them to send me an e-mail so I can keep track. We can probably accomodate folks who want us to configure something but I'd like to give priority to installations. Voyeurs are most welcome to watch and learn! Would somebody from WPILA please post this information on some appropriate WPI newsgroups, bulletin boards, and the like? I'd like to give priority to WPI students and allow "outsiders" if we have enough space. Remember, we have another install fest in February which is open to everybody.
