<br>It works out of the box with my Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop via libusb, so I don&#39;t know if it will work with BSDs or other F/OSS operating systems, but I think it would.  There are drivers for Windows and OS X on Epson&#39;s website, but I don&#39;t know if it works for those, I bought it so that it worked with Linux for a reason...<br>

<br>It&#39;s not new, but I feel that it&#39;s worth it for Linux compatibility.  It used to be white, but after years of oxidation and the plastic getting older, it&#39;s now yellowed.  I would refund the money if it broke in the first year.<br>
