Sun had gone away from this by the time of the Ultra1 as I recall. It was a stupid optimization from the realization that most DB-25 serial ports only used 8 signal lines max, so it was simple to just add another driver chip on un-used lines. Then someone smarter said "let's just use a DB-9 instead" and the problem was solved. Alot of middle old Suns have one DB25 and one DB9 serial port. But these are all around 10 years old. I'm not sure what I am talking about. I know that the terminal for my SUN ULTRA1 is different than the terminal for my DELL PC.
I have purchased a IOGEAR KVM switch. I would like to include the SUN machine in the set of computers that can share my one keyboard, mouse and terminal.
What do I order which will make this possible?
