Hi Ron,

I can’t recommend it enough. I work for a Cybersecurity company as an analyst, and the senior staff in my group have a signal chat for out of band / backup communications. I recommend to everybody to use it for out of band, since if your email is compromised it is a bad idea to discuss that compromise with your coworkers over email.

It’s also great to have secure cross platform communications. I do not have an android phone, yet I can securely chat with my friends who do. If I recall correctly, it’s using PGP under the hood to encrypt and sign messages.

I've been using it daily since ~2014. On Android it acts as my default SMS application. It does what it says on the tin, and it's kept up with adding features to be on par with other messaging applications.

Hey Gang,

Does any one use Signal?

Wondering if anyone has and thoughts on it good or bad.  I'm trying to
decide if I should install or not.
