[Wlug] What USB flash drive device to choose for Suse Linux 9.3?

Hi All, Quick question: Is buying a USB flash drive device for Linux something that needs a bit of research? Or, by and large, will any old device work? I've got Suse Linux 9.3 installed on an HP Omnibook 6100. Thanks, Doug
