I was just wondering if anyone had any success using PCI-X/PCI-Express cards under linux. I was looking through the kernel and don't see any specific settings strictly for PCI-X bus. I wonder if they *just work* with PCI support enabled, as AGP does. I'm specifically interested if anyone has got hardware 3D acceleration working with a PCI-X video card. I'm looking at getting a mid-range NVidia card, since their drivers are at least useable under linux, compared to the atrocious performance and glitches the ATI proprietary drivers have (and the open drivers being worked on are not overly worried with the card I have, and the R300 driver doesn't have any sort of 3D acceleration right now). As far as I can understand from the docs on nvidia's website, it seems like it'll just work, but was interested if anyone had any success. In particular I'm looking at the nvidia 6600gt series. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks. CCS -- Carlton C. Stedman II, sageman@wpi.edu "To iterate is human, to recurse, divine." -- L. Peter Deutch
