
The following is based some very old memories of reading some articles about the charging profiles of lithium ion batteries. I expect that there are inaccuracies in my memory. Assuming that this has a lithium ion battery and this was the result of over discharging the battery, it is possible that the battery voltage is below the minimum voltage for the charging circuitry inside theSan Disk Clip. This behavior is an intentional behavior of chargers for safety reasons. If you insist on taking the risk of bypassing this safety feature, it is your risk. The unit has to be under charge for a l-o-n-g time, relying on internal leakage current to s-l-o-w-l-y charge the battery to above the minimum voltage to actually charge the battery.
